Superjet undergoing fleet-wide repairs

The manufactures of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 have announced that all seven of the commercial aircraft produced so far are to have a defect with their landing gear corrected over the next week, RIA Novosti reported on Monday, citing a Prime news agency. A Superjet was forced to make an unscheduled landing on Friday, after a problem occurred with its landing gear.

“The aircraft suffered a breakdown in the drive rod of the right hind wing niche nose landing gear. This failure did not affect the safety of passengers as was confirmed by an analysis of the SSJ100 fail-safe systems. Within a week the whole fleet will have repairs conducted to address the defect,” a source from the aircraft’s manufacture said on Monday.
